I actually don't use a polar scope for polar alignment.
I use Sharpcap Pro or Nina using my OTA or guidescope.

I too have been at Kitts Peak and it's a real gem. I attended the evening program with my daughter a few years ago.

Re: James Webb Space Telescope Prelaunch Briefing(s)
So now before the deployment successful or Failure I have wondered what my thoughts would be if the telescope deployment fails. Will I condemn the hubris of engineers and managers for creating the "Goldberg" machine or give them a thumbs up for a good try? If successful do I applaud them ...

What's the best and shortest way to get up to LLCC from Eagan?

Re: Telescope Alignment
It's important to move the telescope in the same direction when aligning that the telescope moves when it goes to an object. Watch which way the star move in your eyepiece when you goto a star and use the keypad to move in the same direction when you do your alignment. Moving up and to the right fo...

Mount Wilson and David Levy
I was on a an Astronomical League presentation sponsored by Explore Scientific yesterday and I found out about a live event Friday Dec.4th and Saturday Dec.5th this week with a virtual star party at Mount Wilson. I believe that David Levy will also be there speaking. https://explorescientific.com/pa...

Re: Slooh has a Club Membership
I was signed up for the $4.95 a month membership which allowed me to look at the Slooh 500.
I have since let my membership lapse since I was not getting very good images. I did find the events and talks interesting but I did not like the long waits for the telescopes.

Re: Forum Notifications
Clayton, I checked my user profile and I am subscribed to six different forums and I have always gotten updates up until few weeks ago. I double checked and I am subscribed to all of the six forums and I added a new one today for the Help Forum. I also checked my spam folder and nothing is in there....

When I first joined MAS, I signed up to monitor certain forums and I would get emails for any kind of new forum activity. Steve,
Help me understand why would the BSIG observing session at ELO be any better? Wet conditions at CGO and the parking lot?

Re: MAS Events in SkySafari
I just remember registering and it took about a week to get a response and I was wondering if they forgot about me but I eventually got the approval to log in after creating a username and password. I then requested a broadcast channel (not sure if I will ever use this) and a approval to post in the...

Re: MAS Events in SkySafari
https://www.nightskiesnetwork.com/signup I did this months ago and I think you have to wait for an approval and if you want a channel, you have to request one. I assume the channel is if you want to open your own broadcast. I have not logged in for a few months so I tried it today and it still works...
