Re: Moderator question

Or perhaps business obligations have limited time available to spend on hobbies during the past week - been super busy in "real life". I will try to look into this issue as time allows, hopefully within the next few days.

Re: Moderator question

As a moderator you can click on a post's "headline" and be able to edit the post (when you click the edit button). This includes the option to remove "stickie" status.

You can go into the moderator control panel, but this is a MUCH easier way to do it.

Did not cover the Pluto-Palooza, but WCCO just ran a nice report featuring Ron. Will probably repeat at 10pm.

ELO Lost & Found Conversation?

Not sure if it was on the boards or the ELO email list, but recall seeing something about a lost scarf during the Saturday, March 14 event at ELO - and a response that a scarf had been found on the visual platform cart. Although I read it in passing I'm thinking I also saw a note that a glove had be...

Re: Venus Transit follow-up

I set up 4 of my scopes at my church in Medina. Did not do a lot of "advertising" but still managed to have about 120-125 people stop by and take a peek. Very fun, as besides church members and staff, some neighbors or people driving or biking past dropped in to see. Very low key event, bu...

Re: Forum logins... password doesn't save

No consolation, but I have the same problem with this site and like you, it is the only one where I do. At least it saves my info and doesn't log me out unless I close my browser, but it doesn't do the auto login when I first fire the browser up. I've tried every setting having to do with logins on ...

Mars Rover Scientist in Plymouth

Thought this may be of interest for some of the west-side folks: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Wayzata Central Middle School The speaker will talk about his/her field of science for about an hour, including a question-and-answer time at the end. From 8:10-8:40 p.m., the speaker will be a...

Further to Craig's comment. I intend to create a separate Outreach Requests area where non-members (yes, members, too) will be able to post requests for the O-Team. It is not designed as an area to discuss the needs of a specific outreach event - that will continue to be the Outreach Forum - it simp...

Hi all - I received the following from a friend at NASA - SOHO: Dear Jon, Would you be able to take a few minutes and vote a couple of times for SOHO in the NASA contest? Today is the last day and we are losing! Please pass on to anyone who might not mind helping out. http://mission-madness.nasa.gov...

Would be more convenient if it would go to "Read". Helps me keep track of what's what. Thanks! When you hit the back arrow in your browser, it should (in theory) go back to where you were last - which would be the list with the unread markers. (Browser issue, not forum software issue) Onc...

It has been flawless for me.

There is one thing that can happen. If you log in and then go to private messages (to either send or receive) then come back to the forums, the software thinks you left and have re-logged in. Hitting view new posts will result in a "No New Posts" banner.

EXACTLY depends on EXACTLY where you are speaking of.

At my home near downtown Wayzata (just north of 394, west of 101) the precise time was 17:58:02.

Given that 394 is relatively short, 5:50 anywhere along the route would have been BEFORE sunset, but not by much.

A straight line trajectory between where we started and where the star we're shooting for will be in the amount of time it takes to travel there - some modifications as neccessary to avoid passing through black holes, other stars, and other cosmic "debris"...
