One of the sites the MAS is participating at for the Statewide Star Party is the Cedar Creek Ecosystems Science Reserve in East Bethel. We have three volunteers but we could use a couple more. If you are interested in joining us please respond to this post and plan to arrive around 7PM.

The Today show had a video showing the cables breaking and the instrument platform crashing to the ground. it was a sad sight to see this iconic telescope self destructing.

That is a good explanation. We may have to simplify it a bit for the general public but it does explain why Hubble, or other large telescopes, can't resolve the flags on the Moon.
