Re: The moon comes to ELO
A GIANT mega-thanks to Merle, Bob Kerr, the MAS board, all The volunteers at ELO and everyone for making this all happen. It was a big moment for our club, and shows just how much we can accomplish when we pull together. The weather didn't cooperate, but for sure our facilities and members really ki...

Looking forward to this!

ISP (Impromptu Star Party) at CGO 6/6
http://cleardarksky.com/c/ChrryGrvMNkey.html If CSC is correct, tonight might be okay. I'm thinking on a trip to Cherry Grove Observatory, if I get out of work early enough and if the forecast doesn't take a turn for the worse. Unless others join, I will likely use one of the on-site dobs and not op...

Some interesting astronomy reading

My first thought would be to rent a camper's cabin (if you are not the tent-camping sort) at one of the state parks away from the Cities and other populated areas. They run about 40-60 bucks a night. http://images.dnr.state.mn.us/destinations/state_parks/reservations/camper_cabin_map.jpg Lake Maria ...

Justin, Speaking from my personal experience since getting back into the hobby about a year and a half ago, yours is not a question with a simple answer. There is a large variety of telescopes out there, and yes, you do sorta get what you pay for. The trick is knowing what you want to do with your g...
