LX200 satellite tracking

Page 34 of the LX200 manual shows how to track a satellite. I will be trying that next time I'm out at Onan. I am thinking of going out there Tuesday.

I was changing the settings earlier in the day for other photos and forgot to change them back for an Astro Photo. The ISO was at 400, but the f ratio was 22. The following image of Regulus, Saturn, Venus & Moon I changed to a more "normal" f ratio of 5.0 Thats all I also had to adjust...

ISS pass 6.17.07

I rushed outside to image last nights ISS pass. I messed up on the settings but still got an image of it. This was the brightest ISS flare I've seen, noticably brighter than Venus. You'll notice the bucket of the big dipper on the left and Kochab, in the little dipper, on the upper right. http://www...

There was a lesser flare that we witnessed on Monday during the PSP. The station was passing far North, from West to Eas...

I agree with Bill. I've had a couple Thousand Oaks full aperture filters and would recommend that or similar. What can one expect to see in the above with LX10 as opposed to the views from the solar at Onan ?? By this I assume your asking about the Coronado scopes at Onan, where the solar prominence...

Good advice Kurt... Kyle, When it comes time to buy be sure to shop around. I bought my scope at Radio City in Mounds View. www.radioinc.com/oscmax/catalog/index.php?cPath=10_17 I wanted to actually see it before I bought. I also got eyepieces and accessories there and online. One of my favorites is...

I found useful info at the Sky & Telescope site...

And have referred friends of mine specifically to...

to help them choose which scope fits their needs.

movies

I have to highly recommend the HBO series "From the Earth to the Moon". Absolutely great stories of the manned space program from Mercury to Apollo. The Cosmos series by Carl Sagan I recently re-watched. On the fictional side I gravitate towards Star Wars and almost all the Star Trek serie...

2005 images & video wanted

I am in process of making a "2005 MAS highlights" DVD and would like to know if any members would like to contribute images and/or video they have taken over the past year. I have the Kare 11 extra and John Dobson video. I have my own video and images and am hoping to include a slide show ...
