Sunset on Friday 2-27-09

Post by Dale Smith »

Does anyone know EXACTLY when sunset was on Friday? A co-worker was filling out an accident report, came to a spot asking for light conditions at the time and asked me if I knew exactly when sunset was. The accident was at about 5:50 PM on 394, which puts it right near sunset, but exactly how far off is the question.

EXACTLY depends on EXACTLY where you are speaking of.

At my home near downtown Wayzata (just north of 394, west of 101) the precise time was 17:58:02.

Given that 394 is relatively short, 5:50 anywhere along the route would have been BEFORE sunset, but not by much.

With a set of long/latt, you can get pretty precise with this site:

Heavens Above can also help with an excellent Google Maps interface to select your location and then provide the Sun Rise/Set times:
