Messier Marathon this next weekend

Post by jjones7777 »

Greetings all,

Well, we're going to try it again!! Even though, at this point, the weather doesn't look terribly encouraging, let's begin to prepare for the possibility of a Messier Marathon this upcoming weekend. I've attached a few of pdfs which might be helpful, one being the Marathon List Log (two versions - feel free to use either one), a set of tips for preparing and doing the Marathon, and a set of Telrad charts (I was not allowed to attach this file - go to the Observer's SIG page to do so).

If you're looking for a book to help you prepare, there's the infamous "Year-Round Messier Marathon" by Pennington. Great book.

Due to the fact that we're a month later than ideal, there will be some objects that will not be visible.

Let's get ready to Marathon!
