For those of you who have been worried about the weather and wondering if you should attend this years Camping with the Stars, I'll go out on a limb and guarantee the weather will great. With forecast temps in the low 80's, dew point in the comfortable mid 50 to 60 degree range, light breeze, let's hope the long range forecast hold up.
We will once again have the Lunar rock on display. If you didn't get a chance to see this at our last public event, this is the last weekend we will have it.
Events begin Friday evening Aug 1 at 7:00 pm. Speakers are scheduled Friday and Saturday, door prizes, raffle prize of an 8' dobsonian telescope, pot luck picnic for MAS members and registered campers and MORE!!
The campground is filling up, but there are lots of spots open for camping on the ball field below the observatory.
Call the Carver County Park Office at 952-466-5250 to register and reserve your spot.
If camping is not your cup of joe, there is the option to come out for just the day, no preregistration is required. There will be a “Daily Admission” fee for this event of $10.00 /person/day which will include the daily vehicle permit, a wristband for MAS activities, potluck picnic and entry for the door prize drawing Saturday evening (must be present to win).

Will anyone from MAS be volunteering or helping out with this event?

This is an MAS event; It will be staffed by volunteers from our group! Many of us will be there.

One other item… If anyone can bring some folding chairs for us to borrow for the weekend it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
