Audubon Minnesota Dark Sky Event

Post by Ron Schmit »

Audubon Minnesota is hosting an event promoting dark skies. While their aim is to protect migratory activity, our goals are the same: promoting safe, economical, and common sense lighting to maintain our dark skies for the benefit of all.

April 18, 1-3 pm, at the FWS Refuge in Bloomington.
I am reaching out to local astronomy enthusiasts or others who may, for whatever reason, be fans of dark skies. We have been working on light pollution reduction locally through our lights out program for migrating birds. We’re hosting a speaker and author who has written on the subject and thought you and yours might be interested. It’s free but we’re hoping for people to sign-up so we can keep track of numbers.

Here’s more about the program which is 4/18 from 1-3 pm at the FWS Refuge in Bloomington:

If you see any synergy or might want to work together on some aspect of light pollution awareness or reduction let me know.

Take care,
Joanna
