We had an incredible night viewing at Camping with the Stars on Friday. If you weren't there, you missed a great night. It was about as good as an August night in Minnesota can get. Great turnout for the night. We have well over 100 campers with more coming tonight.
For the first time since the lightning strike about a month ago, we have all the scopes operational and video equipment working. We had solar viewing, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter (Jupiter & Moon together in the NP101… incredible), Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Ring Nebula, Dumbbell, M51, Andromeda. We also had Bill Bynum show us a few carbon stars he was able to find. Once again, we had great speakers in the evening and a laser guided tour of the night sky by Ron Schmit. We had the observatory open past midnight before we closed up Onan. I stayed and took some images with the 8"… until 5:00 am
Thanks to all the key holders who made the night go smoothly.
Ok, breaks over, gotta get back out there for what will be another incredible night. Hope to see you there too!!!
