Impact Earth!

Post by tugger »

I found this site a few days ago while bored and thought it was interesting given that another asteroid just missed Earth by less than half the orbit of the Moon. I found that angle in which it enters Earth's atmosphere makes the energy change very little (30 to 45 degrees for an Apophus sized iron chunk stays at 1.19 x 10^3 MegaTons of TNT while 1 degree and 90 degrees are still 1.19 x 10^3). I guess that has nothing to do with it breaking up in the atmosphere?
