Tate Building Re-opening Open House - Thurs. March 8th

Hi all,

My friends at the GSM sent me this notice to pass along to MAS members who are able to go:

Please join us for the grand opening of our newly renovated John T. Tate Hall. The UM Dept. of Earth Sciences has recently moved to John T. Tate Hall after many beloved years in Pillsbury Hall, Kolthoff Hall, Shepherd Lab, and Civil Engineering, but we are excited about our new space and would love to share that excitement with you.

The Public Grand Opening will be held on Thursday March 8th with self-guided research lab tours running from 11am-2pm and 4pm-7pm. The tour stops will include LacCore (room 175), Minnesota Institute for Astrophysics Solar and Space Lab (room 255), Institute for Rock Magnetism (room 240), Aqueous Geochemistry (room 430), and the Observatory.

We also invite you to attend our department seminar from 4pm-5pm Thursday, March 8th in Tate rm 105. Our department seminar speaker will be Dr. Lisa Morgan from the United States Geological Survey presenting on "Into the Depths of Yellowstone Lake: Insights into hydrothermal explosions and other active geologic processes on the lake floor"
