NNSF Not in S&T

Post by Sureshks »

Hi all,

S&T just published this list of summer star parties, and I do not see Northern Nights Star Fest listed.

I'm thinking that we might want to make sure that we get added to this list each year. There are a lot of star parties listed, included one in northern Canada, that aren't as well attended as NNSF...

The magazines are typically pretty good at adding info to their star party listings when the get it (I informed the smaller Amateur Astronomy magazine about both NNSF and CWTS a couple months ago, and I believe they are now in that mag's current issue). As soon as the date was determined for NNSF, the organizer of that event should send a note to S&T and to Astronomy (and to the AL and to other mags like Amateur Astronomy).

We have advertised in the magazines the past. We missed it the year. We also decided not to spend money advertising in Reflector since we have not seen anyone signup due to the add. I think a few posters at Alcon would be the best advertising we can do this year. The field will hold about 50 scopes, so we do have some room for growth.

I notice we didn’t even advertise ALCON in the most recent Reflector.
