I have been absent from this group for many years.

I am so happy to see that the B-SIG is alive and well! Thank you to all the people that have stepped up and taken the beginners by the hand. Getting started can be so intimidating and confusing, and the MAS is a first class organization. I've missed you guys!

Hello Patti,

Welcome back! Thank you for the kind words...

You're always welcome to attend an upcoming B-SIG event and see what we're up to these days. B-SIG events are generally well attended, and my favorite aspect is when former beginners are helping the newbies learn their gear, or the sky.

We hope to see you soon!

Hi Deane -

Haven't done any observing in years. Too many irons in the fire these days. Did you go to Northwoods Starfest last weekend?

Last weekend I was at Camping With The Stars at ELO. I haven’t been to NWSF since 2016 due to the 2017 eclipse and increased involvement at ELO.

And also, the MAS' Northern Nights Star Fest usually falls on the same weekend as the CVAS Northwoods Starfest (although NNSF is a month later this year, at the end of August). I've noted a number of Wisconsin folks have been coming to NNSF recently. Apparently the darker skies are a good attraction.
