Astronomical Twilight?

Post by orbital1 »

When I see the following information related to star parties what does it mean:

Astronomical Twilight End: 23:36
Astronomical Twilight Begin: 2:56

Thanks!

It means that in the evening astronomical twilight (when the sky is as dark as it is going to get) ends (meaning its finally dark) at 11:36PM the night of the star party. The very first hints of dawn begin at 2:56AM -- just a few hours later in the summer!

Greetings,

Only in the summer, in the winter the nights are much longer, which gives you plenty of time to freeze your butt off looking at the stars.
