Hi everyone,
The next virtual B-SIG presentation of the Winter season will be on Saturday January 23rd, starting at 10:00am.
Mike Shaw will be presenting "Precision Night Photography Planning"
Synopsis:
"Unlike many other forms of photography, consistently successful night photography requires advance planning. Heading out without a clear idea of what it is you intend to photograph can lead to many missed opportunities and disappointment. After this webinar, you will be able to confidently say, "Never again!"
Specifically, you'll begin by learning what is a night shooting plan, why you need one and how to create your own. You'll then learn the details of how to precisely plan almost any night photography image, including the full moon, the Milky Way, constellations, and more. You'll see how to harness the power of your own, personal digital photography assistant (your cellphone or tablet) to plan exactly when and where to set up your tripod; and determine not only what focal length lens to use and exposure settings, but also the exact compass direction and elevation angle to capture your perfect shot.
Finally, you'll see just how easy it is to search the next ten or one hundred years to find the dates and exact times when your dream image is even possible! This talk will mostly use the "PlanIt! Pro" app, although many capabilities are also possible with "PhotoPills" and "The Photographers Ephemeris." "

Note: We will be opening up this link about 5 minutes before the event starts.
We hope you can join us!

Hello! Despite my best efforts of remembering this meeting on multiple calendars, I still forgot. Is there any chance that it was recorded? I was really looking forward to learning more. If not no worries.
Thank you,
Emilee

Hello everyone,
I hope you enjoyed today's presentation by Mike Shaw on Precision Night Photography Planning. We had a lot of great questions and participation from the 66 attendees this morning! I sure learned a lot!
We recorded the presentation, and planned to post the link here. Unfortunately, there was a tech glitch and the recording only picked up the video, and none of the sound...
Did anybody else happen to record it? If so, please let me know.
Thanks!
Suresh

Good news everybody!
With thanks to Mark Peterson, we were able to paste together an audio channel to the video of Mike Shaw's virtual presentation. The video is now posted to the MAS YouTube Channel.
The audio/video sync is not perfect, but hopefully adequate.
