Sky & Telescope Annular Eclipse flight out the MSP airport

A Sky & Telescope Annular Eclipse flight will be operating out the Minneapolis / St Paul airport (MSP) for this week's (Thursday) solar eclipse.

The flight plan is to fly up to Canada north of Lake Superior to view annularity for a about 4 minutes 26 seconds from 38,000 feet.

The 3-hour charted Delta jet flight will originate out of and return to MSP.

Seems like a rather steep price to me:

Note that the flight is priced by row, whether occupied by one or two participants. (So that everyone can enjoy the eclipse with a minimum of congestion, no more than two people can occupy a single row.) Note also that you must pay for an entire row when you register.

At the end of tonight's ABC News broadcast (Thursday Jun10th) they had a story narrated by Senior Meteorologist Rob Marciano about the Sky & Telescope Eclipse flight based out of the MSP airport.

Was frustrated to see absolutely NO pictures of annularity on all the news yesterday! They all showed pictures of partials (or TOTALs!!) Good thing we can always count on Bob King to get it right. That man's a national treasure.
