A Sky & Telescope Annular Eclipse flight will be operating out the Minneapolis / St Paul airport (MSP) for this week's (Thursday) solar eclipse.
https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-t ... se-flight/
The flight plan is to fly up to Canada north of Lake Superior to view annularity for a about 4 minutes 26 seconds from 38,000 feet.
The 3-hour charted Delta jet flight will originate out of and return to MSP.

Re: Sky & Telescope Annular Eclipse flight out the MSP airport
Seems like a rather steep price to me:
Eclipse Flight Pricing (per person) Shared row Entire row
Standard row $2,380 $4,300
Premium row (Row 11,12) Sorry, sold out! $2,745 $4,935
Gold row (Rows 1, 2, 3, 10, 15) Sorry, sold out! $3,100 $5,580
Note that the flight is priced by row, whether occupied by one or two participants. (So that everyone can enjoy the eclipse with a minimum of congestion, no more than two people can occupy a single row.) Note also that you must pay for an entire row when you register.

Re: Sky & Telescope Annular Eclipse flight out the MSP airport
At the end of tonight's ABC News broadcast (Thursday Jun10th) they had a story narrated by Senior Meteorologist Rob Marciano about the Sky & Telescope Eclipse flight based out of the MSP airport.

Bob King was on the flight.
Were there any MAS members on the flight?

The story above from Market Screener is missing the photographs. Here's the story from the Delta site:

There's Astro Bob, front right. Nice work, Bob!!
Was frustrated to see absolutely NO pictures of annularity on all the news yesterday! They all showed pictures of partials (or TOTALs!!) Good thing we can always count on Bob King to get it right. That man's a national treasure.

Thanks to whoever wrote the picture captions, we now know this was an “annual” eclipse so we can see it every yearRon Schmit wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:53 am The story above from Market Screener is missing the photographs. Here's the story from the Delta site:
