An Update on Hubble... Not Good News

Post by Sureshks »

Hi all,

A few weeks ago NASA reported that the Hubble Space Telescope's primary computer stopped working.

While NASA diagnosed the problem, we all knew in the back of our minds that NASA could simply switch to the backup computer and turn the science back on.

But when they did turn on the backup computer they found that it had the same glitchiness that the primary computer had. So now the underlying issue is believed to be in the hardware... which might not be fixable.

Oy!!
