The MAS donates to the International Dark Sky Association and receives the IDA's Nightscape newsletter. In November we received issue 105, the Summer 2021 issue. (Hmm... a bit late. Supply chain? COVID?)

The IDA Nightscape newsletter issue 107, March 2022 has arrived. Well, at least this one actually arrived during the month it is dated! Attached is a .pdf of this issue of the newsletter for your enjoyment.

Some highlights:
Page 4 - Article on an example of good outdoor home lighting.
Page 5 - Announcement to "Discover the Night" during International Dark Sky Week, with more info at idsw.darksky.org
Page 6 - Destination dark skies - Plan a trip for International Dark Sky Week.
Page 10 - Research roundup - Some studies of how light pollution affects both wildlife and humans.
Page 12 - Great article on a person who advocated for a proper retrofit of street lighting in Pepperell, Massachusetts, where they actually were able to install shielded 2200K LED lights dimmed by 50% which not only improved the night sky, but even the local police reported that nighttime visibility improved.

It seems there is little interest in these. Should I continue to scan and upload these when they arrive in the MAS PO box? It does appear that the newsletters are posted to their web site 6 to 8 months after publication.

I got around to reading this issue after scanning and uploading it. This is a really good issue! I recommend going after it and looking at it.
