Special August BSIG meeting

Post by mlfj4901 »

Greetings,

This month's BSIG meeting has turned out to be quite special thanks to Ron Schmidt.

We will be meeting at the University of Minnesota in the Tate building (see link for campus map below). Ron will be doing a presentation on "The Sky" an astronomy program, kinda showing us newbies why we might want one, and what to expect from them.

That's not all........

Ron will also be taking us to check out the observatory's scope(s), and have some viewing time.

Meeting time is 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Greetings,

Thanks generator, someone noticed the problem with a lack of date on the email list as well.

The date is, as generator said, August 22nd, this Monday.

Hey Matt:

Do you have any announcements, schedules or whatever you would like published in Gemini for October? If so, you have until 8/31.

Sorry for the late update, all.

Meeting: Aug 22, 7:00 - 9:00. Starts in the Tate Physics building, on the mall at the U of M East Bank. We'll start in room B49 - the basement lab - and move up from there.

Topic: Astronomy software review - what's out there and how to use it. Also, a tour of the ol' refractor telescope at the U of M campus.

Hope to see you there!
