Looking for BSIG Presenters

Post by Sureshks »

Hi all,

We've got 2 or 3 more Beginner-SIG Winter presentation slots to fill before we head back out to Metcalf for our monthly observing sessions in the Spring.

I thought I'd drop a note to see if anyone wanted to present to our group in Feb/April timeframe.

As of now, I'm thinking the first two open slots would be on Sat. 2/24 and Sat. 3/24 (locations TBD).

These dates could be moved around a bit if need-be to suit the presenter.

So, if you have an idea for a presentation you'd like to give, send me a private message (or drop me an e-mail at: sureshks1@msn.com), and we can discuss. If we don't get any takers I will fill the time with my own presentations.

I'm looking forward to another exciting 2018 B-SIG Calendar of events...

Happy Holidays to All!!

Suresh,

Beginners enjoy the rewards offered by observing easy-to-locate objects that are also visually compelling. The wide variety of double stars fall into this category, as they may be observed with small aperture telescopes, binoculars, and the naked eye. I'd be happy to do a presentation if you think your group would be interested. I could also introduce them to the three double star award programs offered by the Astronomical League.

Thanks,
Bob Kerr

Two hour presentation window. Doesn’t necessarily need to be that long. I normally snag the room for three hours...
