Hello everyone,

The February B-SIG presentation will be on Saturday Feb. 23rd from 1-3pm in the Ethel Berry Room at Southdale Public Library in Edina.

Southdale Library: 7001 York Ave. South Edina, MN 55435

Bob Kerr, MAS member, renowned expert on star clusters, and the Astronomical League's (AL) Globular Cluster Observing Program Coordinator, will be presenting:

Observing Star Clusters

Synopsis: Stellar associations, or star clusters, are among the most stunning objects in the night sky and may be enjoyed with the naked eye, binoculars or telescopes. The oft-heard description, “diamonds on black velvet” perfectly captures their awesome beauty. The brightness, structure, and color of these deep sky objects make a breathtaking contrast to the blackness around them. We’ll talk about the two types of star clusters, open and globular, what they are, how they differ, where they can the found in the night sky, and how best to observe them.

We hope that you can join us!!
