How about an observing challenge?

Post by Starforce2 »

NGC 6522 near the spout star of the teapot is an easy starhop target due to it's proximity to the star marking the teapot. Just a little up and to the left if the sag "teapot" is sitting level. Keep an eye out for 6528 nearby and slightly dimmer. I was rather surprised to see the object, which for a while I thought to be one of them sagguro (mighta spelled it wrong) or perhaps a PK designation planetary (mag 15, mag9 respectivley) till I hit something on the planetarium program that suddenly made 6528 show up. BTW, I did look for that mag 15 planetary...just for kicks. Not surprisingly, I saw nothin but stars. There are however, 2 just dimmer than mag 9 in that area under the spout that could be fun when I get the computer attachmnt.

Used a 10" with a 15mm plossl.
