Problems with Electronic Media and Book Group forum

Post by Deane Clark »

Is the Electronic Media and Book Group forum fully set up? For example, quoting a post doesn't seem to work there, whereas it still works in the ELO Keyholders forum.

Not sure what to say. I just posted a test message in that forum after seeing your post. It was there. I deleted it right away to avoid cluttering up the forum.

Here’s an example from the “Behind the curve” thread when I look at it:

I think Merle May have just fixed it. That thread looks right to me now - literally a minute after I just took that screen shot.

Oh, I see what you mean now. I had misread your initial post and thought you meant you couldn't post at all in that forum topic. I was seeing the same thing, and now see quotes correctly graphically represented. I had just assumed it was an issue with the text formatting of the specific quote commands rather than a system problem. Thanks for fixing it, Merle!

I talked to Merle about it at the meeting. He said the forum was set up right, but the individual posts had the “Disable BBCode” option turned on. He just turned it off. It’s possible the original poster had it turned on for some reason (or accidentally) and the others just inherited it. I don’t know why that option exists. Could it be removed?
