December B-SIG Virtual Presentation - The ABCs of Stars - Let’s star-gaze! - Saturday Dec. 12th - 1:00pm

Post by Sureshks »

Hi all,

The first B-SIG virtual presentation of the Fall season will be on Saturday December 12th, starting at 1:00pm.

Bob Kerr will be presenting The ABCs of Stars - Let’s star-gaze!

Synopsis:

Did you know you can see over 3,000 stars with your naked eyes…the smallest star is just a little bigger than Jupiter…there’s a star larger than the orbit of Saturn...the oldest stars are almost as old as the universe?

Everywhere we look, the universe is busy with stars…either making new stars or making stuff from old stars (like planets and us).

So what’s going on with all these stars? (Spoiler alert: a lot!)

Join us, and let’s get some of this star-stuff figured out.

Note: We will be opening up this link about 5 minutes before the event starts.

We hope you can join us!
