Comet Comparison: NEOWISE vs. Leonard

Same scale. Quite a difference!

Left: Comet NEOWISE in July 2020. Right: Comet Leonard in Dec. 2021.

OH, Thanks for sharing! I went out Sunday morning, on the outskirts of Des Moines, looking to see if I could spot it... I knew it would only be faintly visible, as it would only rise about 90 minutes before sunrise... I panned around with my binoculars... but decided after 30 minutes that I was not going to find it in the rapidly diminishing darkness... and, looking at this comparison, it is easy to see why I had not been successful. Although, the 15 mph breeze at 33 degrees was not helping much either... Perhaps when it becomes an evening object.
