U of M Geologists Believe Inver Grove Heights is the site of a Large Meteor Impact

Post by petemn2004 »

University of Minnesota geologists believe a massive meteor crashed into what is now Inver Grove Heights about 500 million years ago.

They said the diameter of the crater now buried under ground is about 2.5 miles wide.

Maybe we can get geologist Julia Steenberg to give a talk at a future MAS meeting.

This is really cool. I'd love to hear a talk like that.

Maybe we can invite the Geologist at some point. We may see something presented at the Geological Society of Minnesota.
They seem active on facebook too.
