Kare, channel 11, is presenting a feature on Astro Tourism in Minnesota during their 10pm news on Monday Nov 21. I've set my DVR for it to see what it's all about.

Good piece, and surprisingly long for TV, nearly 7 minutes. It's up on the KARE-11 web site:

It was ok. My biggest complaint is they showed some really unrealistic night skies. I think a I saw one shot that looked like a photoshopped deep sky with people in front.

I am excited to finally see the mainstream media show the fact the night sky is disappearing. I hope KARE does a follow up.

It was the main piece for the broadcast, so it gets extra time.

Reality intruded at the very end, when they admitted that they were clouded out! Hey guys, this is Minnesota, not Nevada!

agreed, I thought it was a bit misleading. we are too cloudy and too often plagued by poor seeing to to be a really first class astronomy destination. but it was nice to see an in-depth peice on the hobby.
