Astronomer Biographies?

Post by MinnDon »

I don't have copies of Burham's tomes, yet, (yes, I'm a newbie) but I read a discussion of him on another board with a link to a biography of the man. Ten pages of reading didn't stop me once I started (hate reading long text on a computer). Such a fascinating character, an over-looked genius/renaisance man, and a very tragic character. Anyhow, wanted to pass on the link here, and ask if anyone has any other bio's of astronomic legends to recommend for further reading? Burnam's bio had some interesting techno-info as well, never heard about the "blinking photo plates" technique for detecting celestial motion before, so clever!
