Am I the only one who is irritated by the media coverage of tonight's "rare" full moon, eclipse and comet event? see:
http://www.kare11.com/weather/triple-tr ... /404668592The eclipse isn't anything special. It's not even a full lunar eclipse, and of course they ALWAYS occur when there's a full moon.
As to the Comet... Nobody is going to just step outside and see it. It is mag 7.9 and the full moon will totally wash it out. News stories like this are put out there but journalists don't bother to fact check.
Rant over. I feel better.

No Bill, you are not alone.
From the Mars hoax, the "Eye of God", the Super Moon, etc. etc. We'll always have misinformation, or at least mis-interpreted information to clarify to the general public.
It is good that the public is being informed of these events, but it seems the news media isn't to concerned about the fine details.
As Ron Schmit has pointed out on numerous occasions - Our work is not done...

Hi Bill,
Yes, I had to deal with friends asking me about this on Facebook, and then having to correct the misconceptions...
People were quite confused, and disappointed.
